Sigma Phi Epsilon bases many of its core values around the idea of being balanced. Building on this, every year Sigma Phi Epsilon seeks out some of the most balanced individuals through the Balanced Man Scholarship, to recognize their academic excellence, leadership skills, and commitment to their health.
This year, the Balanced Man Scholarship received a large and highly competitive pool of applicants. With the help of the BMS committee, we narrowed the field to 40 semi-finalists for interviews. These interviews allowed us to better understand each candidate’s character and accomplishments through a fair and systematic evaluation process. Through this process, we ultimately selected our finalists.
$4000 in awards were given out to nine of the most outstanding applicants. The $250 Balanced Man Scholarship was given out to Edward Fucci, Pranav Krishna Devaraju, Pranav Munigala, Niles Rodriguez Randall, Liam Hoheusle, and Jaemin Bruss. The $500 scholarship was given to Manual Valcarcel, and the $750 scholarship was given to Armaan Mehta. Lastly, the $1000 grand prize was given to William Jjuuko. Sigma Phi Epsilon believes theseyoung men to be some of the best and brightest within Rutgers University, fully exemplifying the ideals of the Balanced Man Scholarship.
